Vietnam's furniture exports in 2020 exceed 11.6 billion U.S. dollars

The General Administration of Customs of Vietnam announced that in the first half of December, Vietnam’s exports of timber and its products reached US$618 million, of which only US$480 million was in furniture exports.
As of December 15, Vietnam had exported 11.64 billion U.S. dollars of this category of goods, of which, furniture exports amounted to 8.95 billion U.S. dollars.
Compared with 2019, the export value of timber and wood products increased by 1.64 billion U.S. dollars, which is equivalent to an increase of 16.4%.
This is one of the main export commodities that will maintain a relatively high growth rate in 2020, which is full of variables. The United States, Japan and China are the main export markets for such commodities.
Customs statistics show that in the first 11 months, Vietnam exported 6.37 billion US dollars of wood and its products to the US, an increase of 34% year-on-year; exports to Japan were US$1.16 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%; exports to China were US$1.08 billion, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year .
